Peaceful citizens live in fear, constantly defending themselves from criminals. Brian, who fought hard to secure freedom for the planet, can only watch these events unfold, powerless…

Once the smoke cleared
and anger had been laid to rest,

so someone raised the knife,
and peace was gone, and so was trust.

Brian visits his old friend Malcom, who retired to live in the mountains after the liberation from the system. He believes he can convince him to lead the people of Nir 7, creating a free and stable government.

Malcolm and Brian discover that a group of criminals called C:H:A:O:S has occupied the old control building and established a dictatorial government. The two decide to form their own group, calling it Midnight. Their plan is to regain control of the building and free Nir 7.

Brian is about to press the button that restarts the system. Malcolm speaks to him calmly, explaining the danger of returning power to the machines, and tells Brian that maybe this is not the first time in history their people have faced a situation like this. What if history is repeating itself endlessly? What if the system has been stopped and restarted at the end of every cycle? Nobody would know! Memories would be erased each time the system is rebooted.So maybe it’s up to them to break this infinite loop and make a different choice than their predecessors. Brian understands his friend's words and agrees to give the new world a chance.
12. A BRIGHTER DAY
